Life and its lessons (10)

Forever: Times show us different motions in life and one thing is certain in this world that there is nothing called “forever”. Forever ever after is an illusion we have which diminishes our abilities for constructive judgements and decisions. Now and again though we get reality checks- death of someone you know reminds you it’s around the corner for you too, a week of sickness reminds you of health, the good and bad nothing always is permanent. My lessons - nothing lasts, and things are not meant to stay forever. Friends, work, love, relationships they all have different waves of fading and growth. We will “break” if we continue to look for anything permanent in this world. Forever is Jannah and I pray that you and I are part of the beautiful forever ever after – Jannah.

“Aha” moments: Defining moments happen in different circumstances in life and one of those “aha moments”, happened to me in a middle of traffic talking to a friend “Thank you Huda”. A puzzle that stayed with me for 2 years solved in a middle of a conversation. I sealed myself in a world of “this” or “that” – even without any restrictions, blockages or challenges my mind always returns to either this or that. My “aha” moment that day was do both and a question that lingered on till today “why not both”. My lesson, don’t live a life of mental restrains – choices are in abundance, continue to choose according to your abilities and not your fears. For now, a mystery is solved where I choose both options (to be done in different times) and a start of a journey to continuously check my mental restrains.

Loss and appreciations: Earth is hurting and in return we are now too; we have undervalued the importance of the trees, animals, forests and nature around us and for long have destroyed them for our own interests only to realize their importance and trying to take steps to rectify. This is also seen in all our daily lives. We mostly lose value of all around us. My lesson, appreciate all that is around me- family, health, friends, abilities, nature ........... Life is full of these gifts and showing gratitude is not a return to the other but a return for oneself. For what is lost and gone cannot be brought back in its same natural replica and that too - if it ever could be brought back.

Being underestimated: I always thought being underestimated as a sign of weakness. I remember my university teacher asking me if I really did this project paper by myself and one of my early job exam’s and interviews after recruitment being told in a casual conversation that she thought if I have cheated on my written exam. I always wanted to defend my honor by explaining that I didn’t or giving in more detail on how I managed to do it but lately I am totally at ease. My lesson, don’t get offended when this happens – raise your head with pride. I now know this only proves further what I am capable off. Aim for the highest for yourself as people will continue to judge others – continue to surprise people in the best of ways.

Inspirations: “Never leave yourself for somebody else.”

Until next time Insha’Allah – Cya
