Life and its lessons (15)
Life and its lessons (15)
New beginnings;
It was a small garden(pictured) with more than 5 different fruits growing and because of some problems they had to be cut short. For the short term it hurts to see them all gone but the long term they grow stronger bearing more fruits Insha’Allah. It made me think of life in general; it’s easier for us to understand the processes when something is new but for something that existed and starting a new all we have are complaints, insults and blames. My lesson; there is nothing smooth about this life, we have to learn to take steps towards new beginnings in different aspects; we take with us the learning, experiences and history (which signifies the roots of the trees) and apply them to our small new beginnings that bring a newer version of ourselves in whatever we do.
Dear me,
I am sorry.
I am sorry to have neglected you sometimes. I used your body as a dump for unhealthy food, your mind with fears and your memories with unfinished truths. I am sorry to have missed your signs and above all I am sorry to have not given you my whole as you deserve. My lesson - "me" is what you will have with you till your grave; don’t neglect it physically and spiritually. When you stop feeling "whole" pause and redirect yourself.
In a few days;
It can take me months to finish a task that I could actually do in days and vise-versa. Last week was one of those days where productivity was full within short hours. Designing – Onsite –Drafting – Presentation – Pitch – Planning all in a few days. Reflecting back, I learnt key things about myself. My lessons; 1. Set higher benchmarks for oneself; at the start it looks impossible and your mind has multiple excuses but it’s always how we perform better than the usual. 2. Take the first few steps; if you keep moving you will eventually get it done. 3. Step forward; don’t wait for someone else to do it, volunteer – lead – shine.
Note to self;
‘فَاصْبِرْ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا’ - So endure patiently, with a beautiful patience – Al Ma’arij verse 5
Inspirations;
“To all those who have ever felt like prisoners, at the mercy of a mood: Here is what I've learned. Our state will never be constant in this life. It will always go up and down. For the highly sensitive and intense ones, they will more severely go up and down. But that's just part of the package. It's a beautifully packaged, double-edged sword. The key to success is not letting the waves own you, by holding on to solid land. The only solid land is God. And you can only hold onto Him through your prayers, remembrance, and worship. Hold on to these things for dear life--regardless of the broken state you may be in at that moment. When you do that, you will be able to ride the massive, and often crushing, waves of your life--instead of drowning in them.” – Yasmin Mogahed
Until next time Insha’Allah – Cya
