Life and its lessons (18)
Life and its lessons (18)
Truth;
I am a believer; I believe in people – Not in an idealist, naïve, in an illusion way, thinking that people never lie but I choose to give the benefit of doubt. I think just maybe if they see from me there is no reason to lie that the person will learn to be more authentic around me. Most times I win the battle - I believe most people I choose to affiliate with are authentic and the truth is what I see. But at life I know that I have failed to see the truth in some people and situations. I chose to turn a blind eye to their truth thinking it's a doubt. Because of crafted pretend and manipulation, people can tend to doubt what's real. My lesson; don’t beat up yourself for the truth unrecognized. These harsh lessons will sharpen your skills and intuition to identify these crafts earlier and take decisive actions. And always remember; continue to believe in people; majority will surprise you well and beyond.
Love is ………..
Love is different things to different people. It’s at the center of our daily conversations and often times misunderstood. To me love is a mom teaching her son how to make porridge and the son listening attentively, love is surprising a friend with cake and gifts for starting a new adventure, love is when you are asked if you had lunch and are followed up with an ask to eat garlic when you have a cold, love is a father asking his daughter to rest through after a day’s work, love is when you are welcomed with hugs and kisses after a visit, love is knowing that you are missed. My lesson is in knowing the above to be true and that there is so much love to receive and love to give. In a world that propagates, and rewards aggression, let's give and receive love often starting with giving permission to love ourselves.
Perspective;
Take a glance at the picture of this post and guess which city, country or place it was taken. (The picture is not photoshopped, no color added, or any modification made). This picture and the conversations around this place thought me how perspectives matter in our lives and in our chaotic world/minds how we miss gems around us. Close to sunset I took this picture of the Dam in Badacas/Jigjiga area, Hargeisa. I sometimes travel through that road rolling down the window to listen the different sounds and take in the smell when the water is full and at times, I roll up the window cause that same place can become not so good looking and stinks. My lesson is in looking at what we see daily with a different perspective. We might notice our images of places, things and people can be of extremes (too good or too bad) making us lose the realities that surround them.
Share in the comment below which country/city came to your mind when you saw the picture before knowing where it was.
Note to self;

Inspirations;
This posts inspiration comes from one of my favorite teachers Nouman Ali; “Allah knows you -- you -- were born for this time. That's Allah's decision. Which means you have something significant to offer the world. You have some serious trees to plant. And you have to not get overwhelmed with the news around you……..”
Until next time Insha’Allah – Cya
